Carnival, corruption and the markets

José Genoíno, an important representant of Brazilian's government seems to be more realistic than his fellows. According to him, the affair involving one of the most important leaders of his party, José Dirceu, will be forgotten due to our great party: carnival.

That's probably true (I wouldn't say he is wrong). However, it's ironic to hear it from him. Why? Because his (and also Dirceu, of course) historical discourse for voters was that political parties other than his were plagued by corruption and unethical behavior.

Genoíno could be right about carnival (I hope not!). But it's sad to hear it from him...

And market seems to be punishing us because of this.
